‘King of bling’ Kahn hopes to land $60m from sale

Mr Khan, who drives a red Ferrari and aspires to build a large family mansion with a helipad in Melbourne’s west, courted controversy with a bid for Labor Party preselection.

Last year, he lost an appeal after being convicted and fined $26,000 over eight charges relating to his failure to disclose his company interests and submit ordinary election returns.

The proceeds from the sale of the residential sites will fund another of Mr Khan’s development projects at 845 Mt Cottrell Road.

Mr Khan was first elected as a Wyndham City councillor in 2012 where he holds its urban futures portfolio which oversees liveability, housing, neighbourhood planning, urban design and long-term financial planning.
