West Island Grand PoutineFest features 30 varieties of poutine

The first edition of the West Island Grand PoutineFest takes place from May 31 to June 2 at Plaza Pointe-Claire.

Poutine lovers take note: The first edition of the West Island Grand PoutineFest will be held from Friday, May 31 to Sunday, June 2 at Plaza Pointe-Claire.

A dozen food trucks will serve over 30 varieties of poutine. To wash it all down, beer drinkers will also be able to taste microbrewery products.

There will be activities for all ages, including music bands, street performers, makeup artists, water play areas and inflatable games.

The poutine festival runs from 5-9 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Proceeds from West Island Grand PoutineFest go to the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation.

“It’s important for the Grand FoodFest to give back to the cities that host the events,” said Maude Couillard, director of the Grand FoodFest which holds 20 events across Quebec in the summer.

“We’re delighted that the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation is one of the recipients this year, and we applaud its commitment to upgrading its facilities and improving the quality of care given to its patients.”

Proceeds from the sale of beer, reusable cups and forks will also be donated to the foundation.

Plaza Pointe-Claire is at 269 St-Jean Blvd., corner of Donegani Ave.
